Arts in the A.M. at RiverPark Center is participation in the arts for students in grades 3-12. Students will become actively involved in multiple arts activities. Arts training make a tremendous impact on the developmental growth of every child and have been proven to help level the “learning field” across socio-economic boundaries. The program gives students and teachers much more than just fun “extra” activities. Studies have shown the countless benefits of arts education.
Components of the program include visual art, music, dance, theatre, and a backstage tour. Workshops run for three hours and students are divided into groups for a MORE INTIMATE HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE. This is a very fun-filled, educational experience. The cost of the program is $8.00 per student.

*Get "MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUS!," and bring a sack lunch and combine this with "Symphony Live".
David Goodwin, education director of the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, presents this all-new, hour-long interactive program appropriate for your students – either in your school or at the RiverPark Center. Goodwin not only covers the basics – families of the orchestra, and how the instruments make their sounds – but also adds two new exciting features this year. Using entertaining video and audio examples, he’ll make vital connections to the music students listen to, to the pop styles on their iPods. We’ll also have a guest musician at each show – not only to explain the musician’s life but also to demonstrate his or her instrument to your students. Occasionally, Maestro Palmer will also drop in to visit. Children actively participate throughout the show, actually handling and/or playing orchestral instruments. The fee is $3 per person.
